Welcome. Recent circumstances remind me that it is indeed a rare and fleeting gift to share this Earth with you.
I go for character. The sessions can take a while. This is an important way I distinguish my services.
While I especially like working with people, I've had unexpected success in the fine art, editorial, commercial and illustrative worlds.
Truly,
things evolve so quickly in digital photography that success requires a humble and open mind. It takes time and effort to keep up.
Professional organizations help keep me learning with some of the best in the
business.
I've had formal training at places like the University of New Mexico, The New York Institute of Photography and the Texas School of Photography, and I've been a full-time photographer for quite some time now. My interest in optics keeps the studio fresh with new ideas.
In addition to my photography education, I hold a Master of Arts Degree from the University of New Mexico, which saturated me in a world of Political Economy, Media Arts and Anthropology.
In the 1990s, I was the Senior Portfolio Manager for Boatmen's Trust. I managed about a $1 Billion portfolio during some great years to be in the business. I primarily covered the Southwest and Latin America.
Now, I am interested in solutions to the great human problems, and am so often reminded how shallow and short-term interests can be detrimental to all. I've focused lots of work on pension reform in the U.S. and Latin America. I have written many articles and papers on the subject.
In the documentary world, human circumstances, environments and clashes have sometimes granted me amazing opportunities for unique photographic expressions within the realm of respectable consent.
I also maintain stock of Latin American society and environments over the last decade, and the flora and fauna of Central American primary rainforests.
I am a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and associate. I am also a divemaster, a certified rescue diver, a trained pilot in search of more flight time, a writer, a trekker, and an avid reader.
Most of all, I 'm just a guy who treasures God and the love and support of my friends, my family and my dog. Indeed, that is all I truly need. Thank you all!
